New artists on Artimage | Barbara Walker, Charmaine Watkiss, Le Berger de L'ile de Ngor and Richard Spare
We have recently added four new artists to Artimage, DACS’ image licensing platform for modern and contemporary art.
Barbara Walker works in a range of media, from embossed works on paper to paintings on canvas and large-scale charcoal wall drawings, to explore themes of gender, race, representation and power. In 2017, she exhibited at the 57th Venice Biennale as part of the Diaspora Pavilion and in 2023 was both elected to the Royal Academy of Arts and shortlisted for the Turner Prize.
Charmaine Watkiss works in pencil, watercolour and ink on paper, engaging with themes of ritual, tradition, ancestry, mythology and cosmology. Her work has been exhibited at Liverpool Biennial 2023, Carl Freedman Gallery, the British Museum, Tiwani Contemporary and more.
Le Berger de L'ile de Ngor (born Abdoulaye Diallo) is a Senegalese artist who took up painting in 2011. In 2018 Le Berger’s work was included in the Dak Art Biennale. The artist lives and works at his home on Ngor Island, Senegal.
Richard Spare’s work is largely inspired by his travels, his love of nature, and the garden he designed at his studio in Charlton, UK. His work has been part of many group shows, including as part of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, and the Mall Galleries ‘Discerning Eye’ exhibitions.
